Neurodivergent-Affirming Counselling
Navigating a world built for neurotypical brains takes an immense toll. You might spend your days masking your natural traits just to get by, leading to deep burnout and sensory overwhelm. Or, you might be a parent advocating for a child who is constantly misunderstood, feeling drained by the sheer effort it takes to secure the right support.
This space is for adults exploring their neurodivergence and parents seeking to understand and support their neurodivergent kids. Whether you hold a formal diagnosis, are self-identified, or simply want to adapt your parenting to fit your child’s unique nervous system, this space is designed for you.
Many traditional therapy and parenting spaces treat neurodivergence as a deficit to be fixed or a behavior to be trained out. My approach moves completely away from the medical model. Being neuroaffirming means I recognize neurodiversity as a natural human variation, just like biodiversity. My role is to offer support that actually makes sense for your unique brain.
Therapy here adapts to the brain in the room. If you are coming in for yourself, we can keep the lights dim, skip the small talk, and avoid eye contact if that is what your nervous system needs. We will focus on understanding your sensory profile and building routines that actually honor your capacity and needs. If you are here as a parent, we will work to understand your child’s internal world, shift away from compliance-based parenting, and build a home where they feel safe and understood.
You deserve a space where you can finally drop the mask and learn how to help your child drop theirs.
